South Georgia Pecan Company
About Our Company South Georgia Pecan Company was incorporated as a family owned business in 1913 by the Pearlman family of Valdosta. In 1967 the company was purchased by Beatrice Foods and was formed into the industry leader it is today. With the breakup of Beatrice Foods in 1983, our current owners, Ed Crane and Jim Worn, took over the company with a commitment to quality and service. It is this commitment that has allowed our company to grow threefold and remain at the top of the industry. Our plant currently has the capability to shell 160,000 pounds of pecans per day. We are equipped with the latest technology in shelling, electronic sorting, and metal detection equipment available. Our in-house laboratory performs micro and biotechnical tests on our daily production for quality assurance. The efficiency gained by new technology is a necessity to compete in today's market, but we never lose sight of the fact that our employees are the key to our success and every customer is important. |
